Hospital Refusing Your Ayushman Card? How to Ask for Help

For problems using PM-JAY at a hospital, call the official toll-free helpline 14555. Explain the branch, proposed treatment and what the hospital told you. This independent directory cannot decide eligibility or resolve a treatment complaint.

Where to complain about an Ayushman hospital

A Ministry of Health and Family Welfare release dated 23 March 2026 identifies the Centralized Grievance Redressal Management System (CGRMS) and the 24×7 toll-free number 14555 for irregularities or treatment denial at empanelled hospitals. It describes district, state and national levels for handling these grievances.

Call the official PM-JAY helpline: 14555

Open the official CGRMS portal. We could not verify the current form during our source check because the portal did not load in this browser. If you cannot access it, use 14555 to ask how to register and follow up.

Clarify what the hospital is unable to confirm

Ask the Ayushman desk to explain the specific issue: beneficiary eligibility, the branch’s scheme status, the proposed procedure or package, authorization, appointment availability or a requested payment. Write down the explanation instead of assuming every difficulty has the same cause.

Official guidance from December 2023 distinguishes a hospital’s approved specialties from services outside that approval. A general hospital listing does not establish approval for every treatment. Check the proposed package and branch alongside your concern.

Prepare the facts for your call

This is a preparation list, not a verified mandatory-document checklist for CGRMS. Ask the official service what it requires. Keep card identifiers, medical documents and personal details for the authorized official process; do not post them on this directory or in public reviews.

A short way to explain the issue

“I contacted [hospital and branch] on [date] about [proposed treatment]. The Ayushman desk told me [the explanation given]. I need help checking [eligibility, branch approval, package, authorization or payment concern]. Please explain how to register this issue and follow up.”

Adapt this to what actually happened. Do not add facts you cannot support. If a reference or acknowledgement is provided, save it with the date and ask which official channel to use for follow-up.

If the hospital asks for payment

Ask what the proposed charge covers and how it relates to the package discussed with the Ayushman desk. Keep any written explanation, estimate or receipt you receive. Give the official help channel the facts and ask it to assess the concern.

The directory cannot determine from a payment request alone whether a charge is permitted, arrange a refund or promise that an admission will be authorized. Avoid treating a general online list as a ruling on your individual case.

A directory correction is a separate request

Use “Report a data issue” on a hospital profile for an incorrect name, contact, address, source date or recorded status. That report reaches this directory’s owner; it does not register an official PM-JAY grievance.

An individual complaint does not automatically establish suspension or de-empanelment. We update those statuses through explicit source evidence and review. Read how hospital status is checked.

Common questions about PM-JAY complaints

Does calling 14555 guarantee admission or approval?

No guarantee is made here. Use the official channel to explain the issue and ask about the applicable process; hospital approval, the package and your eligibility need their own checks.

Can this website submit the complaint for me?

No. This directory links official channels and accepts corrections to its own records. It does not submit treatment complaints or collect patient medical documents.

How quickly will a complaint be resolved?

We have not verified a case-specific response deadline. Ask the official service about follow-up for your reference; do not use hospital claim-settlement timings as a complaint deadline.
