Start with the procedure, not just the disease

A disease search helps you find related topics, but it does not identify which procedure you need. For example, the word “arthritis” does not establish that knee replacement is appropriate. Keep the treatment decision with your clinician, then use the proposed procedure name when contacting hospitals.

Ask for a package and branch-specific answer

1. Which package name and code correspond to the proposed treatment?
2. Is this particular branch approved to provide that package?
3. How will my eligibility and any authorization be checked?
4. Which proposed implants, medicines, tests and follow-up arrangements are included?
5. Who can explain any proposed payment or service outside the package before I agree to it?

Keep the desk’s answer and date as a reference. Do not treat a general specialty label or the hospital’s name as procedure approval.

What an empty treatment list means

Our treatment lists require evidence identifying a hospital, a PM-JAY package and its source dates. If no accepted match is stored, the page says so. That is a gap in our directory’s evidence, not a conclusion that no hospital offers the treatment.
